Moving

The last few weeks have been very hectic for us (as you can guess by the lack of posts) since we were moving.  I don't have a ton of pictures or news to report and would like to say that we don't plan to move again for a VERY long time.

The closing was pushed back from Tue 8/27 to Fri 8/30 which messed up our plans of having the hardwoods refinished and complete by Saturday morning. My parents came in town to help out with the move but also because Parker's school was closed the entire week of Labor Day.  They contributed a lot of elbow grease that weekend working on the new house.  It had been vacant for a long time and was very dirty.  The basement walls needed heavy cleaning and then were painted with dry-lock.  In the end, everything worked out.  The floors look gorgeous and we hired movers on Mon 9/9.  Many things are still in boxes and there is a lot of work to be done.  Just the smaller things that make such a difference (blinds, door knobs, electrical outlets, light fixtures) not to mention the bigger projects we are going to tackle soon.
