Graham - 11 Months Old

Graham turned 11 months old this week!  I still wouldn't call officially call him a walker, although he is getting more and more daring.  He can string together 10 steps at a time and we have seen him walk to get from one location to another nearby without provoking from us.  His new favorite thing to do is try to run while hanging on to that one helpful finger.  It's pretty darn cute.  But also worrisome, he is going to try to run on his own shortly after he is walking all the time...that means lots of bumps and bruises!

Graham had a cold a couple weeks ago and weathered it without ear infections. We had his 6 week checkup for the tubes and everything looks great. He has been sleeping great the last few weeks.  This is partly due to feeling better (i.e. no ear infection) and also just that he is better at making himself fall back asleep.  Occasionally we will hear him stir in the middle of the night and make some noises, but he almost always goes right back to sleep on his own.  When we put him to bed at night, he is usually drowsy after his bottle but not entirely out, and he falls asleep great on his own.  He has also been sleeping later!  The norm had always been around 5:30 am, but lately we have been getting more like 7:00, so that means almost a 12 hour night.  The only downside to this is that sleeping later in the morning means a morning nap is not entirely necessary, so that may be falling by the wayside if he keeps it up.

We had trouble getting Graham to smile this time for some reason.  And he pulled of the number 11 and tried to eat it, so not our most successful photo shoot.  You may also notice the drool rash on his chin.  This is has fluctuating between bad and worse all winter.  Most weekends it would get better and then when he went back to daycare it would get worse again.  They stopped feeding him bananas because that seems to aggravate it.  My latest solution is twice daily applications of cortisone cream and using Cetaphil lotion, so we'll see how that fares.

The kid loves to eat!  Graham has a good, healthy appetite and likes anything we give him.  He has also discovered a way to entertain himself when he's full...rewarding his good buddy Otis.

Graham would much prefer to play with "real stuff" than his toys and generally tries to get into any cabinet possible.  He has his waving down pat and can clap now too.  I often times sing patty cake when changing his diaper and used to clap his hands together for him.  Now when I start singing it, he claps his own hands, so smart!  He is also starting to learn to blow kisses.

This is one of the few toys Graham will sit and play with

He makes this Ooh Ooh sound whenever he is excited...when we walk in the room, when he wants a toy, when we feed him

He still loves to go for the stairs and knows to turn around and go backwards to come down.

Around and around the dining room, a favorite game (please ignore the mess on the table, lots of projects going on at the time)

Just cute to watch him munch away

Graham has been wearing 18 month size clothes for a few weeks now and wears a size 4 diaper.  His hair just keeps getting longer and sometimes we think the back is starting to curl, so we shall see...

We love our Grammy (as Parker calls him)!

Snow much fun

We have a lot of snow.  It has been a pretty significant snow fall but the real kicker has been the cold temperatures.  It hasn't been above freezing much at all and so all of the snow is still hanging around.  This is a picture of my work. This is drifted snow, but it has completely covered the windows of the manufacturing employee break room (you can see the door in the middle)!

It finally warmed enough to get the kids outside a couple times.  Here is Graham hanging out in the sled and Parker playing, while Greg was on the roof shoveling off snow.

The next weekend we put Parker in the sled and Graham in the backpack, strapped on our snowshoes, and ventured up to the canal path.

I wanted to take a picture of Graham's cute pink cheeks when we get back and it didn't turn out great with the lighting, but you can see what a ham he is when getting his picture taken now.  Progression to a smile...

Sweet & Sassy

Parker had a double birthday party day last weekend with an 11:00 party for Andreah and a 3:00 party for Aaron.  Both are friend's from school.  Andreah's party was at Sweet & Sassy, a salon for girls.  These are not my favorite places to frequent.  Everything is just so...pink!  But I knew Parker would love it and Andreah is a sweetheart.

Parker got her nails painted and her hair done (I told the stylist not to offer the sparkles in the hair, mean Mommy).

They all wore princess dresses and their favorite thing was just running in circles on the "runway".

Then pizza and Frozen cake.  Every little girl's dream!

The afternoon party was at The Little Gym and the teacher was Parker's teacher from her dance/gymnastics class, Miss Teena.  Parker marched right in and sat down next to her in the circle.  She felt very comfortable because it was her old buddy.  I did not get any photos or videos at this party because I was enjoying myself chatting it up some of the great moms from her class, but she had a blast.
